Between 2000 and his death in 2019 Immanuel Wallerstein was a Senior Research Scholar at Yale University. The thinker serves as a distinguished professor of sociology at Binghamton until his retirement in 1999. From 1976 until 2005 Immanuel Wallerstein is at the helm of the Fernand Braudel Center for the Study of Economies, Historical Systems, and Civilizations at Binghamton University in New York. Wallerstein teaches at Columbia University (1958-1971) and at McGill University in Montreal, Canada (1971-1976).
